Mr. Malinga Fernando,
DTTF (aka Captain CIAO)

Mr. Malinga Fernando, affectionately known as Captain CIAO, is the heart and soul behind CIAO Travels. With over 14 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry, both in Italy and Sri Lanka, he has built a reputation for being a dedicated, passionate, and innovative leader. A Qualified Technical Director in Italy, Mr. Fernando also holds a Diploma in IATA Travel and Tourism Foundation and is qualified in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (BL) from the Asian Aviation Centre in Sri Lanka. His diverse qualifications have given him a unique edge in the travel industry, combining technical expertise with deep knowledge of travel and tourism. What sets Mr. Fernando apart is his unwavering energy, innovative mindset, and his genuine desire to drive others toward success. Starting from scratch, he has grown CIAO Travels from a small idea to a brand with global recognition. His goal is clear: to make CIAO Travels a name known worldwide and to make Sri Lanka the top destination for Italian travelers. Sri Lanka, which he lovingly calls his "mother nation," holds a special place in Mr. Fernando’s heart. He is committed to sharing its beauty, rich culture, and warmth with Italians, helping them discover the wonders of this stunning island. His vision is to send as many Italians as possible to Sri Lanka, encouraging them to explore and fall in love with the place he calls home.
